Acrylic PTFE Packing
It is made from Synthetic Composite yarn and impregnated with PTFE emulsion (No lubricants or oils) to provide extra chemical resistance. This type of gland packing is a general purpose packing which can be used as a replacement of asbestos packing. It is widely used in application of alkalies, Mild acids, Solvents, Steam and oils.It is recommended for rotary shafts, Reciprocating applications and valves. It can withstand continuous temperatures up to 300c. The sizes available range from 3mm to 25mm.
- Acrylic yarn impregnated with PTFE and lubricant — no oils needed
- Rated to around 250°C across pH 3–12
- Clean, low-friction seal at a lower cost than pure PTFE
- Suited to rotary, reciprocating and valve applications
- Supplied as a continuous coil, 3 mm to 25 mm cross-section
Overview
Acrylic PTFE Packing braids acrylic yarn impregnated with PTFE and lubricant, giving a clean, low-friction, economical seal with good chemical resistance. It is a versatile general-service packing for water and mild chemical duty.
It works to around 250°C across pH 3–12 at moderate shaft speeds, making it a cost-effective alternative to pure PTFE on non-critical pumps and valves.
