Description
Aramid heat resistant thread is high-tenacity aramid (the same fibre family as Kevlar®) spun into a sewing thread for stitching heat-resistant textiles and removable insulation jackets. It exists to solve one specific and frequently overlooked problem: an insulation jacket is only as good as its seams.
Ordinary polyester or cotton sewing thread degrades and burns through at the temperatures a valve jacket or furnace curtain actually sees. When that happens, the assembly comes apart at precisely the points holding it together — the stitching — and the jacket fails regardless of how good the insulation inside it is. Aramid thread is what makes the assembly survive in service.
We supply it alongside the fabrics and insulation used to fabricate removable valve and flange jackets, welding curtains, heat shields and high-temperature covers. It was used to sew the multi-layer removable valve jackets we supplied to OGDCL Dakhni.
