Asbestos Graphite Packing is general purpose packing used on hot oil, Water, Steam etc. It is made up of asbestos fibers braided together with graphite impregnation. It has a continuous working temperature upto 260c. This type of packing also has an option of stainless steel wire insertion which could work at elevated temperatures upto 450c. It is utilized on valves, Tap equipment, For oils, Superheated steam, Solvents, Hydrocabons, Gas, Ammonia and abrasive liquids. It is available in square braiding and the sizes available range from 3mm to 25mm.
Asbestos Graphite Packing braids asbestos yarn impregnated with graphite, giving high-temperature resistance and self-lubrication for steam and hot-service valves and pumps. Non-asbestos graphite grades with equivalent performance are available where asbestos is restricted.
It is rated to around 450°C across the full pH range and is a traditional, economical choice for hot-water, steam and general high-temperature sealing.
