Mica Packing
Mica packing is made up of special type of non-asbestos fibers with stainless steel wire insertion in it. This type of gland packing finds its application specifically in steel mills for the purpose of polish of iron bars.
- Non-asbestos yarn reinforced with a fine stainless-steel wire insertion
- Withstands high temperatures around 550°C in heavy mechanical duty
- High abrasion resistance — built for steel and rolling-mill service
- Used for polishing iron and steel bars as well as general sealing
- Supplied as a continuous coil, cut to gland size
Overview
Mica Packing is a non-asbestos braided packing reinforced with a fine stainless-steel wire insertion, giving exceptional strength, heat resistance and abrasion resistance. It is used in steel and rolling mills, notably for polishing iron and steel bars.
The stainless-steel reinforcement lets it withstand high temperatures around 550°C and heavy mechanical duty that would destroy ordinary soft packings.
