Asbestos Teflon Packing

Asbestos teflon packing is general purpose packing.It is made up of asbestos fibres braided together with PTFE impregnation.It is a flexible and compact packing.It can be utilized on stainless steel and chromed shafts.It has a continuous working temperature up-to 260c.It has the Ph range of 2-12 and is mostly suitable for alkalis, Inorganic acids, Water, Steam and Organic acids etc. Asbestos teflon packing with lubricants is recommended for use with reciprocating pumps or for the sealing in places where linear velocity is up to 10 m/s.It is available in square braiding and the sizes available range from 3mm to 25mm.

Overview

Asbestos Teflon Packing braids asbestos yarn impregnated with PTFE, combining heat resistance with PTFE’s low friction and chemical resistance. Non-asbestos PTFE grades are available where asbestos is restricted.

It is rated to around 280°C across pH 2–12 and suits chemical and general pump and valve service where a clean, low-friction seal is needed.
